Colour Monotype Demonstration (shorter version) with Debra Winn (25 min)
A Colour Monotype Demonstration with Debra Winn at 'Light' (25 min)
Debra demonstrates creating a monotype. From inking up a copper plate, to rubbing back the etching ink to create the image, and then hand-pressing the paper to print it. The cognate (or 'ghost') is also printed, followed by a 2nd ghost.
'Light', exhibited at fortyfivedownstairs, celebrated over sixteen years of artwork inspired by life models and dance companies from New York to The Australian Ballet.
Beautiful, powerful images of nudes evoking a raw sensitivity created both here in Melbourne and in New York adorned the walls of the small gallery, while images of dancers’ leapt across the walls of the large space at fortyfivedownstairs.
Debra Winn (formerly Luccio) is an award-winning artist with work represented in collections internationally, including the New York Public Library.
